The Life and Times of King Shams

13 years old. His birthday is December 22, Capricorn .
Shams is the first child of Mage Lord Danash VIII and the Third Empress Consort Kureyah of Salsabil, the older brother of Manaril, the was the Crown Prince of the Magedom of Janam. He grew up being groomed to be the Mage Lord, and was trained in the politics of the court by his father and quickly learned the rules of the court and became a political power within the court, though not as much as one as his parents or his father’s co-wives.
Sometime before the game Shams befriended Taj and when Taj’s parents were tried and executed for treason Shams put his life on the line for Taj, and since then Taj has always been near as Shams’ personal attendant and bodyguard.
During his childhood he became close to his half sister Manaril, and cared about her a great deal, so much in fact that when she was taken away as a reader he feared for her safety and when he met Sieg and his Company he began to plan a way to rescue her. He, along with Mubal and Taj, showed Sieg the darker side of the Magedom, and in doing so set the wheels in motion for Sieg and his Company to rescue Manaril.
After Manaril was taken from the Magedom Shams took on an ambassadorial position and was traveling to Salsabil when the Magedom was erased from existence and Shams was made King of Salsabil.
Believing that he had been King since his parent’s death (also believing that Manaril was his full sister, his grandparents were nobles instead of the former king and queen of Salsabil, and other things as well) until the ghost of Rizwan came to him and gave the Magedom’s Chronicle of the Ancient Covenant. He then joined Sieg’s Company and helped him take down the Order of the One True Way. He was against Taj joining, wanting to spar Taj as much pain as possible, but in the end Shams let Taj touch the Shining Legacy and join him in Sieg’s company.
After the war he returned with Taj to Salsabil and resumed his duties as King.
Shams is a polite, pragmatic young man who would rather suffer himself than see anyone else suffer if he thinks he can prevent it. He’s a bit of a workaholic as well. He takes his duties as King very seriously. He has a political mind. He can be incredibly crafty when he wants to be. He’s not bad with a sword either, not master, but decent. He wields an Iris Blade He forgets to look out for himself at times, always wanting what’s best for others first. He can forget when to eat at times and will keep himself up all night if he feels like he should. His workaholic nature gets the best of him at times.
